Christopher Paul DelCioppio, Esq. is an associate at SACCO & FILLAS, LLP, licensed in New York and New Jersey, who practices in the firm's Commercial Division, representing clients in various matters, but focusing his practice on landlord/tenant litigation, estate planning and litigation, general commercial litigation, real estate litigation, labor and employment issues, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) litigation, debt collection and judgment enforcement, and representation of structured settlement purchasers in proceedings pursuant to the New Jersey and New York Structured Settlement Protection Acts. Such representation has included negotiation of surrender agreements and leases in tenancy relationships (for both landlords and tenants), prosecution of a civil action for fraud against various New Jersey realtors regarding a fraudulently brokered lease, recovery of monies for a client in connection with a New Jersey judgment obtained in an action for unpaid wages, and numerous successful petitions for approval of structured settlement sales in both New York and New Jersey. In addition, Chris regularly represents clients in matters before New York courts pertaining to estate proceedings, estate planning, landlord/tenant matters, and commercial litigation. In 2016, Chris assisted the firm by substantially researching and drafting a post-trial memorandum of law which resulted in complete victory for the firm's clients in a complex litigation involving foreclosure on a fraudulent mortgage. Chris has also assisted the firm in numerous successful proceedings before the Surrogate's Courts of New York State, including petitions for letters of administration and probate, petitions to compromise and settle actions for personal injury and wrongful death, and the successful resolution of a contested accounting proceeding. In the course of his practice, Chris prides himself not just on thorough research and written advocacy in favor of his clients' positions, but in finding creative "outside-the-box" solutions for achieving his clients' goals, most notably in crafting "air-tight" settlements and finding alternative approaches to litigation that are both efficient and effective. Chris brings to his practice a keen ability to see and understand all issues in a litigation or proceeding, not just the obvious, and works to understand his adversary's position just as well as he understands his own. Chris also brings this thorough, creative approach to his estate planning clients, devising estate plans that provide clients with peace of mind for their future and their family.
